The model

## What is wheeled energy?

Wheeled energy — also referred to as energy wheeling or off-site embedded generation — is a model where a renewable energy facility generates electricity at a remote location and supplies it to your business via the national grid. The energy is "wheeled" to you, with grid usage charges applied, and the net cost is typically still significantly lower than Eskom's standard tariff.

## Embedded vs wheeled

The right model depends on your site, energy profile and commercial objectives.

### Choose embedded generation if…

You have suitable roof space or land, you want maximum self-consumption, or you prefer to own your energy asset outright.

### Choose wheeled energy if…

You don't have a suitable site, you want renewable power without capex on infrastructure, or you want to scale your renewable percentage beyond what your site can generate.

### Consider both if…

Wheeled energy agreements are complex to structure correctly. SOLINK manages the entire process on your behalf — independently.

    We identify suitable independent power producers with live or near-live MWs available for wheeling, conduct commercial and technical due diligence, and verify regulatory compliance — before any agreement is proposed.

    ### RFP Development & Comparative Pricing
    
    We develop detailed RFP documentation that ensures all IPP proposals are presented on comparable terms — making it possible to evaluate competing offers on a true like-for-like basis.
    
3.  STEP 03
    
    ### Deal Structuring & Agreement Support
    
    We support the commercial and legal structuring of your energy supply agreement — ensuring client-beneficial terms, a competitive price and appropriate risk allocation for a long-term contract.
