With solar energy being the cheapest source of new power generation worldwide and local electricity costs at their highest point in history, the time to procure a solar system to supply cost-saving clean power is now. The procurement of solar systems from private sources is, however, becoming an increasingly complex process, with new technologies, changing legislation and a variety of potential suppliers.
SOLINK is a specialised solar consultancy that will take the complexity, time and risk out of procuring solar power. By using our extensive solar engineering, construction and financing experience as well as local market knowledge we will independently assist clients to get the highest quality and most cost-effective systems for their requirements.
To unlock the potential of solar power in Africa for our clients by leveraging years of local and international solar experience, an existing network of invaluable industry contacts and a deep understanding of the development, construction and financing costs of solar systems.
To reduce environmental impacts of fossil fuel energy production and provide access to clean energy by, fast-tracking the uptake of commercially viable renewable energy, storage & hybrid solutions.
Structure, shorten and de-risk the procurement process of solar PV & battery systems for clients while saving costs by providing independent expert solar consulting services.
Oliver has over 7 years of experience in the full development cycle of solar PV projects in Africa, from origination to commercial operations, and has worked on over 315MW of awarded utility-scale PV projects. Oliver has a deep understanding of both utility-scale and embedded solar systems and has successfully developed over 45 MW of embedded solar systems for clients across RSA. Prior to founding SOLINK Oliver worked with SOLA Future Energy from 2013-2019, one of the leading solar IPPs in Southern Africa.
Callan spent 5 years with a top asset management firm before starting his own business in 2016. Callan has strong financial modelling skills coupled with in-depth market knowledge from the regulatory and financial perspective.
David’s passion for renewables began at an early age when he developed and constructed a concentrated solar-powered stove for peri-urban settlements. Fast-forward to today, David has over four years of technical solar PV experience and has facilitated in over 30 solar PV projects in South Africa’s C&I sectors, accounting for more than 10MW of solar PV projects, currently operating. David has undertaken a Masters in Renewable Energy at the University of Stellenbosch and has published research on the effects of operating temperature on solar panel performance in the rooftop environments of Southern Africa.
